My Little Man

Posted on May 30, 2008

Well, my little boy is sick. The doctor said to my MIL, “well, it sounds like RSV, but it’s just too late in the season.” So I guess that makes it impossible for him to have it. If I had been there, I would have demanded that they test him. But anyway, he’s on breathing treatments every 4 hours, and he’s on a steroid. He’s also taking prescription antitussive/decongestant. I feel so awful for him. So I have decided to start posting some of my pictures. Keep in mind that I am just starting out. My wonderful DH bought me a Canon Rebel Xti for my birthday a couple of weeks ago, and I’m learning about shooting in RAW currently. These pictures were not taken in RAW, but I am proud to say that they also were not shot on auto mode! I hope you enjoy them. These are all the same picture; however, I am practicing my photo editing skills as well. My next post will have pictures of Kaylie. I hope you enjoy them! My supervisor here at my new job says that Wednesday is the 2nd Monday of the week.

After looking frantically for files which were right where they belong (on my desk), and then spilling a ton of coffee on my light pink shirt, I have to say I agree.

Today is a rainy, crappy day. I’m at least thankful that it is hump day.

My Daughter the Bulldog

Posted on May 2, 2008

Well, I am proud to say that my Kaylie is officially one of the ‘Dogs. She did very well at registration for kindergarten yesterday. She has to redo the speech test on her first day because she was too soft-spoken, and they couldn’t hear her in that noisy gym (go figure – loud in our house and quiet everywhere else!).

So Kay has lost her first tooth and become a kindergartner. I can’t believe how fast she is growing. She doesn’t have any baby or little girl look to her at all anymore (especially since she asked me to hack her hair off!).

I’m feeling very old – and I haven’t even turned 28 yet!

The Tooth Fairy Visited My House

Posted on May 1, 2008

My first post is finally prompted by the fact that Kaylie lost her first tooth yesterday! We’ve been trying to get her to eat things that would help it come out. We bought her an apple, at her request, and then she insisted on having it cut up to eat. We actually got her to eat corn on the cob last Friday, which must have helped tremendously. Either way, we know it was ready to come out because the new tooth was already coming in behind it!

Tammy, Kaylie’s babysitter, told her she would give her one dollar if she would pull it out yesterday. Apparently it took no effort at all to get it out (and apparently our child is easily bribed with money, for future reference).

She’s so proud of this, and as her mommy I’m torn. I’m proud of her because she’s really growing up; at the same time, I’m sad because she’s really growing up!

Oh, and the tooth fairy left Kaylie a $5 last night because it was special being her first tooth (read: because she didn’t have time for an ATM run in the evening, and a $5 was all she had on her). Note to Tooth Fairy – $1′s are handy to keep around!

I’ll post a picture tonight from home.
